The most important decision in a person's life is the decision you will make about Jesus. The Bible (God's Word) is clear that the only way to heaven is through a relationship with Jesus Christ, God's Son. Jesus himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me." -John 14:6
After a person makes a personal decision to follow Christ, the next step is baptism. Again, Jesus gave us the pattern and order for being his disciple. Matthew 28:19 tells us, "Therefore go and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit..."
We practice believer's baptism. First, a person trusts Christ as their Savior and Lord. Then, they are baptized. We baptize by immersion which is the pattern we find in the New Testament. Baptism does not save us; however, it identifies us with Jesus and testifies to the world that we are a Christian.
It is important to grow in your relationship with Jesus and to learn what it means to follow Him in your daily life. In Matthew 28:20, Jesus gave these instructions: "...and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
It is important to connect with a small group to help you grow in your walk with Christ. We offer Sunday morning Life Group/Bible Studies for every age group as well as Mid-Week Small Group Discipleship opportunities. We would love to get you connected to one of these groups!
When you become a Christian, the Lord gifts you to serve the body (the church). We want to help you discover your gifts and help you find a place to serve at Shiloh. It is exciting to be a part of what God is doing in the lives of His people and in the community as we show His love to others!
